on this site.
What do you like about being a part of 25 Records?
Our music is available to a wider audience. The possibility of radio
play and fair amount of publicity from the Internet.
What are most of your songs about? (Love, partying,
political, beer, etc.) Kev: frogs and dogs sometimes even a
dog’s clog, but never a frog’s clog! Joe; What is music? Our songs
are about real events, slightly exaggerated.
Give us an interesting story that happened either
at a gig, or while writing or recording a song. Our first gig
was at a Protestant Social Club, where we were forced to stand for
the National Anthem before they let us play. This came after a game
of bingo during a break in our set. The old decrepid sound engineer
kept stopping our backing tracks mid set as he thought there was
nothing on them. Rock and roll!
Do you play any weird or unusual instruments?
VCS3 synth on our demo. We also recorded Kev’s metal watchstrap
as a percussion instrument on a backing track.

Have you been in other bands? Joe; Several heavy metal
bands in my teens, I also DJ and make electronic music. Kev: I
used to play in a funk trio in Derby around 95-97.
Do you have any interesting stories involving the police or
breaking the law? (That we can post on the site) Kev: I was
late for a recording session. So I pulled my woolly hat on, strapped
my guitar on my back and jumped on my mountain bike.
A few hundred yards from my destination I was chased by a policeman
on foot and stopped. I was accused by members of the squad car
that soon arrived of stealing the guitar from a house. I was detained
in the street, despite my pleas, whilst they ran all sorts of
checks on me.
By this time I’d missed the whole session. When it was proved
that the guitar was mine, a young porker decided to fine me £25
for riding on the pavement. Rode home thoroughly pissed off. Joe
thought is funny and the work of karma for standing him up.
Does anyone in the band have any strange or unusual habits
or superstitions? Kev: I always chew airways while singing.
Then, when it has no flavour left, I stick it on my guitar and
stick placks to it. Joe: I’m anti superstitious. For example,
I walk under ladders, I cross on the stairs, and I smash mirrors,
throw salt over my right shoulder instead of my left. I also smoke
exactly 13 jazz cigarettes a day, just to be on the safe side.
