Wouldn't it be nice to see a
picture of the band! On second thoughts they are a bit too ulgy
to be featured here!
Arse met through a dating
agency. They came up with the name after several hours racking their
brains. They realised that they were sitting on it all the time.
The group has five members who
are:
Dan Guitar and Vocals
Andy Bass and Vocals
Adam Harmonica and Vocals
Ben Drums and noises
Mark Percussion and Vocals.
They have been together since
they were last separated and are based at RAF Northholt. They are
not listening to any bands at the moment but are sitting watching
an episode of Steptoe and Son.
They enjoy studio and live work
but if it came to deciding between the two both would clearly come
out on top. There sound has had numerous descriptions the most popular
being that it is sound.
People can come and see their
energetic live gigs wherever they are playing. A listing of these
appears at the following site www.angelfire.com/or/CroydonPureBreed.
Although they dont really
know any of the other bands on the label, they are to be featured
on a forthcoming compilation on Lockjaw records, which features
Monkey Boy. Information on both can be found at the following www.lockjawrecords.co.uk.
When asked what their songs
are about Arse reveal that they are usually about 3 5 minutes
long.
Most bands have an unusual story
or two to tell and Arse are no exception. Whilst rehearsing the
whole band sneezed at the same time but what followed made it all
the more amazing, in the ensuing pandemonium Andy was unable to
contain himself and kicked over a bottle of Lucozade.
Arse dont just limit themselves
to playing the instruments mentioned above. They are all multi-instrumentalists.
Mark plays an amazing version of Come As You Are by Nirvana.
They have been involved with
various other bands, ones that people might have heard of are The
Beatles, Rolling Stones, Nazareth and Judas Priest.
Being in a band inevitably leads
to brushes with the police. Most recently they were pulled over
for a routine check, the officers realised who they were apologised
and asked for signed photos. Arse were only too willing to oblige.
As far as superstitions go Arse
recommend that you dont walk under ladders or piss into the
wind.
