The Dallas Prison yin and yang is gracefylly balanced, with equal amounts light and dark, hot and cold, horse and ballet.

The band is probably the best in the world yin/yang-wise. Otherwise it's pretty decent too, engaging the diverse and multi-facetted talents of;

Trond :singing & guitar

Jon :guitar

Herman :bass

Helge :drums but not percussion

Do you have a web site? "Ofcourse", Jon says. "Check it out!" [www.crosswinds.net/~dallasprison]

How did you meet? Herman:I'll never forget that day, hehehe. We met at an international polka-festival in Italy, "Torino Internatzionale Festivale de Polka `98". It was a hell of a ride." Helge agrees:" Yeah. The Polka brings us together. And Alcohol." Trond:" We are all huge Polka enthusiasts. I think that Polka is the future in popular music." Jon noddes:"Polka is life, life is Polka. And always write Polka with a capitol P!!"

How long have you been together? (Trond: ) "Almost two years." (Jon:)"It feels like a life-time."

Where is the band based? (Helge:)"In the fjords of Norway". (Herman:)"We have a secret hideaway, where we keep our supplies."

Who or what inspired you to become a musician? (Trond:)" We have very different reasons, personally I became a musician because I wanted to learn how to express my feelings through an instrunemt, for example a drum or maybe a string instrument, or maybe a little whistle or maybe some other kind of musical tool or maybe just a stick that you hit with another stick, both made out of wood or maybe you can use other kinds of material.

What about you, Jon?" (Jon:) "The rise and fall of disco music. What about you, Herman?" (Herman:) "My father. What about you, Helge?" (Helge:) "The Fred Flintstone Pez-dispenser. I like it a lot, not just a little bit but a lot."

What bands are you listening to at the moment? Apples in Stereo, Queens of the Stone Age, Jackson Five and Helge loves Nashville Pussy. These are the four bands that we listen to at the moment. What are some of your favourite songs? (Herman:)" We all just like one song, and that`s the American Jeopardy-show tune. All other songs suck."

Do you prefer to play in the studio or live gigs? (Jon:)" We prefer to play in the studio. People just distract me. Where do all these people come from? I don`t like that they tend to pop up no matter where I go." (Helge:)"I like to make the girls go crazy at concerts, Jon." (Jon:)"No, you don`t" (Helge:)"Yes, I do" (Jon:)"No, you don`t" (Helge:)"Yes, I do" (Jon:)"No, you don`t" (Helge:)"Yes, I do" (Jon:)"OK, you do" (Helge:)"No, actually I don`t"

Describe your sound (Trond:) "We play "Haiku-rock". This means that it`s short and simple, but at the same time complicated. It`s a journey through human emotion." (Jon:)"Yes, that`s true, Trond."

Where can people come and see you play? (Herman:)"Check out or homepage for gigs and tours." [http://www.go.to/dallasprison]

What do you like about beeing a part of 25 Records? (Jon:) "They are idealistic enthusiasts, and share our belief in the power of good rockpop music. It`s like a family"

What are most of your songs about? (love, partying political, beer, etc.) (Helge:)" Our songs are about two things, we sing about men and secondly a flag that looks like a rag."(Jon:)"Yes, that are the two things that we sing about. We feel that there are too few bands out there that sing about men and a flag that looks like a rag. We wish to sing about these things. (Trond:)"And I really like to sing about men, and also a flag that looks like a rag. It`s perfect for me. I feel so alive."

Give us an interesting story that happened either at a gig, or while writing or recording a song. (Herman:)"We hope to get some stories in the future, nothing interesting have happended so far. Can you believe it? Nothing! I guess we just are some boring guys" (Jon:)"Speak for your self, mister."

Do you have any interesting stories invloving the police or breaking the law? (That we can post on this site) (Jon:) "I moved a bike once, like a hundred meters. I would like to see the face of the owner when he didn`t find his bike the next morning! hahahahaha." (Trond.) " I respect Law. He is a very good fighter. I once beat him with Yorimitsu. But yes, I think Tekken 3 is a great game. They have managed to keep the nerve from the previous games.

Does anyone in the band have any strange or unusual habits or superstitions? Helge picks his nose and Herman is addicted to herion. Trond is addicted to love. Jon is completely normal.

Please list 10 bands that sound something like you or fans of that band would like you.

. Here`s the list, people: Weezer Ash The Who Poohsticks The Lilys The Four ops The Breeders The Bangles Flaming Lips Foo Fighters

Any last words? (Trond:) "We would like to thanks our fans for their support. We love to get emails, mail us at dallasprison@hotmail.com. And check out our songs on the jukebox, or at our homepage. New material coming soon! Peace!" (Helge:) " Remember, don`t leave home without a copy of Dallas Prison."

Davy Stott, Interviewer: After interviewing these guys, I understand why they`re called DALLAS PRISON..., but that is a big secret, listen and you will understand some day.
