THE
DAN T'S INFERNO LIVE EXPERIENCE IS...
A rolling mix of jazzy breakbeat, funky house, minimalist techno
and old-school jungle, interlaced with Danny Tweedie's native
narratives and vicarious vignettes. The show is augmented by top-drawer
percussion, saxophone and deck skills, and takes its influences
from far and wide to whip up a truly kinetic firestorm.
A collaboration between singer/poet Danny and engineer/producer
Jon Clark, this is a powerful song-and-spoken-word trip through
Tweedie's skewed world, conjuring images of murderous foundlings,
deviant clergy men and doomed trapeze artists along the way. His
words are unsettling and occasionally profane (but also typically
displaying a black sense of humour) and have drawn favourable comparisons
with Tom Waits, Robert Altman, Nick Cave, Mark E Smith and Katherine
Dunne.
This surreal tapestry is woven through Jon's deft beat collages,
that use rhythms and styles from across the dance music spectrum
to bring a cinematic intensity to proceedings. |
