What's the name of the band, and how did you come
up with the name? Deckchair. We saw a slag on a Deckchair on
our hols and thought "Deckchair Slut!" We dropped the
slut though 'cos it was deemed far too offensive!

What are the individual members names and what do they
play?
James: sings + plays keyboards, programs at 80 BPM.
Matthew: guitars and keyboards
David: thinks he's a rock-god but has had to succumb to a keyboard
band!
How did you meet? Mummy and Auntie Janet are sisters and
so I guess we met 'cos Matthew+David are my cousins (they're brothers)
Do you play any weird or unusual instruments? Elastic bands
make a brilliant bass sound
Have you been in other bands? "St Barnabas Beat"
- me and Matthew sang "Think of a world without any flowers"
with my £30.00 casio keyboard at church once. We stole the show!
Do you have any interesting stories involving the police or breaking
the law? ( That we can post on the site) No - We're all model
citizens!
Does anyone in the band have any strange or unusual habits or
superstitions? I hate flying - if we were famous I'd have to
travel by boat or else have a bottle of chlorophorm with me! Matthew
always sniffs food B4 eating + is a foot fetishist.
How long have you been together? 10 years on and off, only
getting serious since '07 though.
Where is the band based? Kidderminster, England
Who or what inspired you to become a musician? 'cos there
is so much crap out there, if Roxette can be pop stars then why
not me?
What bands are you listening to at the moment? We all listen
to different things, I guess: Marc Almond, Underworld, Bis, Bjork.
What are some of your favourite songs? Tainted Love by Soft
Cell, Never let me down by Depeche Mode
Do you prefer to play in the studio or live gigs? Studio!
Playing live gives me bouts of imaginary laryngitis that isn't really
there. I cancelled tour last gig three times in a week - it still
went ahead and we were stunning.
Describe your sound. Stunning! A mix of indie, 80's keyboards
and good old pop!
Where can people come and see you play? Kidderminster but
were are to suggestions. Having a party? Get in touch!
What do you like about being a part of 25 Records? It makes
me feel like a real indie star! No, it's nice to think people around
the world can have a listen to us.
Do you know any of the other bands on the label, and which one's
are your favourite to listen to? ? Nope sorry, but I've heard
some of the MP3 files that are on the web site.
What are most of your songs about? (love, partying, political,
beer, etc.) Sleazy, gone - wrong hateful love songs! Give us
an interesting story that happened either at a gig, or while writing
or recording a song. Gig wise, I've been so pissed that I've pulled
out Matthew's keyboard lead for an hour, we didn't notice he wasn't
actually playing anything and neither did any one else. Recording
is always a joy - not!
This is Hardcore!!!!!!
Here are a few questions we got out of Melody Maker from a Jarvis
interview.
When did you lose your virginity? We are all still virgins.
Would you be willing to give up sex for five years if you could
have graphic erotic dreams any time you wished? Definately
