Members and their parts to play: Jade (Fiona McCammon) singer/songwriter/musician
A little bit of history:
In 1990, at the age of 16, Jade joined her first band, 'Vein',
initially as the keyboard player, but soon started fronting the
set on lead vocals. The 5-piece band performed their own brand of
alternative rock, regularly playing at all of the main venues in
Melbourne.
Three years later, Jade decided to quit 'Vein' and start her own
band 'Czar'. This time writing all of the band's material with the
bass player. While the band was out gigging, Jade was approached
by Melbourne industrial/experimental/gothic/ambient band 'Shinjuku
Thief' to record vocals on their outrageous album 'The Witch Hammer',
released in October 1993.
In 1995 Jade joined 3-piece band 'Pepperland' with whom she recorded
her second CD album; this however was never released.
The next year Jade joined all-girl punk band 'D.N.S' (Do Not Swallow)
in which she was not only the lead vocalist but also played guitar,
mandolin and clarinet. Again Jade was the main writer in the band
and sole lyric writer.
During these development years Jade also studied jazz ballet and
took a degree in music and audio technology, achieving an A-grade
pass. Jade has also participated in plays at high school and university
as well as DJing in nightclubs and on public radio.
Disillusioned by the negative aspects of the band situation Jade
invested all of her money into making the move to London, the centre
of the music business as she sees it. Having teamed up with the
production house 'Esprit Music' Jade has just written and demoed
her first song since arriving in England.
