The line between being a photographer and a film maker is becoming smaller and smaller. Whilst some people aim to be the greatest landscape photographer, I’m aiming to be the greatest multimedia artist.

Rather than my trumpet, I though I’d let someone else do it for me so from the pages of Wide Open space

Our two April Twenty Ten Random Profiles so far, (four more can be added) come from the UK. First up is Mark Rigler, who I started viewing because of some awesome sunsets he had shot. Over the last year he has developed his game into the most professional of tourism ambassador’s doing a number of docco’s at very interesting locations and events. Often using his own voice over and music, he’s a one man band of broad quality movies and his latest is all about Saint Patrick's Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig), a yearly holiday celebrated on 17 March and made while Mark holidayed in Ireland, (a country I adore). Should also mention that Mark has become an innovative stop motion and time-lapse cameraman who does not think its only clouds he should be shooting :)

Mark’s great body of work continues to rise at: vimeo.com/user426007

There’s a few stills from existing and forth coming projects on flickr

I’ve won various awards from the Memorex Video Challenge Cup in the UK, "best music and sound" at the OSFAF 21st International Film Festival in Skopje, Macedonia and  the Best Comedy Award in the American Motion Picture Society festival

Whilst there is a big difference in the workflow of photography and film making, one thing they have in common is the camera.
