What's the name of the band, and how did you come up with the name? The band got their name "the Love Commandos" from the line "I'm a Love Commando and this is a raid" by Zodiac Mindwarp.

What are the individual member's names and what do they play? The bands just a concept, everyone gets a call as when needed.

How did you meet? Mainly pure bad luck, I meet the new backing singers at club, Jane down the pub, apart from meeting Dave Sexy, which was in a supermarket.

How long have you been together? About 3 feet.

Where is the band based? The basement at 25 Records look around the site and you'll find the house!

Who or what inspired you to make music? Ian Dury and Elvis Costello

What bands are you listening to at the moment? Turin Brakes, Maddy, Kylie, Maria McKee, Theaudience.

What are some of your favourite songs? Today? If kind of into theaudience, it will be different next week.

Do you prefer to play in the studio or live gigs? I like to play up anywhere.

Describe your sound. A sex noise, or was that a sex nose.

Where can people come and see you play? I'm not allowed out the house these days.

What do you like about being a part of 25 Records?
They are very sexy people! I've slept with some of them [ha ha]

Do you know any of the other bands on the label, and which one's are your favourite to listen to? Yeah, I know a few of them; some of them have played on my tracks and visa versa. My favourite? Dr Jan, Blaze, Parkstone Dub Foundation.

What are most of your songs about? (Love, partying, political, beer, etc.) Girls, girls, and more girls!

Give us an interesting story that happened either at a gig, or while writing or recording a song. Once whilst taking a break from a long mixing session, I said I was going out to buy some 'catfood', someone else asked for some 'coke'. We had a visitor in the studio, who knew little of the rock'n'roll lifestyle other than what he'd read in the press. He presumed that 'catfood' was a code word of some illegal substance, and when some one else asked for coke, well that just confirmed it. "Chris can I get you anything I asked?" "No I'm fine" came a rather shaky reply, [Chris was looking quite worried at this point, and we all thought what's his problem].

You should have seen the look on his face when I returned with a tin of Whisker's Tuna Catfood and a can of Coke-a-cola!

Do you play any weird or unusual instruments?
Nothing more than a computer and a sampler.

Have you been in other bands? None that I'd admit to!

Do you have any interesting stories involving the police or breaking the law? (That we can post on the site). Not with out dropping my self in it!

Does anyone in the band have any strange or unusual habits or superstitions? See above

A pure E number overdose of a band. Red Ash and the Love Commandos are the foxiest thing since Robin Hood [Walt Disney version].

Red Ash are simply cute and funky!

They describe their music as a `kind of dancy-funky-indie guitar groove influence`. I have an other word for it. MAGIC!
