Tell us why you aren't just another rock'n'roll band. Because
we're just another Punk band!
SPOTLESS Electric Peach
It isn't a secret that I'm thankful to Paul Bluefire
(the man from Snakebite City!) for introducing me to the hottest
bands I can think of. After Co-Star, Nimbus, Stairwell, Mascara
and so many others we have here Spotless!!! The featured track on
the latest Snakebite-release already promised a lot but here I have
their debut album (11 songs!!!) in my hand and all I can say is
that I'm happy I have it. Female fronted indiepop has always been
one of my fave genres but I'm the last to disagree that too many
of them are sounding a bit too much like Sleeper-wanna be's (although
I still prefer these to Marilyn wanna be's), but with Spotless we're
on a different terrain. Paula's voice may be a bit similar to the
one from Sonya out of Echobelly but musically it's a punky indiepop
that reminded me of brilliant bands like Shop Assistants or even
The Primitives. The production is also perfect, I mean many talented
bands are spoiling their sound by coming up with a 'perfect' sound
but 'Electric Peach' sounds raw and that makes it even more attractive.
If you don't mind, you'll read lots more about them...so watch this
space but listen to it as well so you'll know what I'm raving about...

SPOTLESS - CAMDEN MONARCH
Spotless, mmm, I wouldn't say that I'm a big fan but
I like their line in making nice poppy tunes to sing along to. It's
meant as a compliment, there's no shame in doing that kinda thing!
(There's definite money there!) They have potential, the only things
working against them is the occasional Cranberries-likeness and
connections with the much-pilloried Aldershot and Farnborough scene.
It has to be said that they stand out from most of the bands in
that area. They look promising, but what they do with that remains
to be seen!
